This poem was written when my grandfather passed. Though I rarely go back to it, I like to share it. It's a poem that reflects the raw emotion of grieving that we all experience some time or another.

Words. Scattered words. Random memories and thoughts.
I've been here before but it's still not the same.
I carry sad eyes tonight. Sad eyes of grieving.
Heart heavy, spirit lessened; I just wish it would go away.
I need something. Something I can't find.
I'm lost in a world where I once controlled.
I'm filled with sorrow, ache and need.
When will it end? When will it stop?
A year? Two?
My heart is tired, my head missing a peace.
I'm left here with nothing.
I grieve.
